Chroniques (working title)
Peeping Tom & Extrapôle / Gabriela Carrizo
Chroniques is a journey through time, unfolding in a series of chronicles or short chapters that speak of beginnings and endings, distant places, ancient and future times, the absence of limits and the unknown. Chroniques takes place in a liminal space, in an uncertain transition between what we have experienced and what we are about to experience. A landscape that is composed as events occur or appear; as in an archaeological field where superimposed layers of memories and histories of other bodies and other times are revealed.
Traversed by memories of many times and many beings, human and non-human, the characters who inhabit and traverse these chronicles are subject to constant becoming. Subjected, traversed and confronted by different laws and physical phenomena (meteorological, astronomical and biological), the bodies will reveal other behaviours and possibilities of being. Without knowing whether we’re in the twilight or the dawn of their existence, we’re witnessing a physical investigation. A bodily metamorphosis in an abyssal, poetic dimension.
Chroniques will be created and performed by a new group of 5 performers with strong personalities and experience as both virtuoso and natural performers and creators: Simon Bus, Seungwoo Park, Balder Hansen, Boston Gallacher and Charlie Skuy. The latter two have already worked with Gabriela Carrizo on the Nederlands Dans Theater premiere of La ruta in 2022.
