The three best African dance solos<\/strong>, selected by a jury headed by Serge Aim\u00e9 Coulibaly<\/strong>, will be touring in Africa and Europe in 2024 and 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n

In 2015, Serge Aim\u00e9 Coulibaly organised the first Simply The Best, a competition for the best dance solo, which was open to young dancers and choreographers from all over Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

in 2019, the third competition was open to the whole African continent<\/strong>. Which explains the reference in the new title: Africa Simply The Best.<\/strong><\/em> This new step creates a unique meeting place and confrontation between young creatives in their artistic progress, which is already so rich and varied.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. The competition<\/em>
The sixth edition of Africa Simply The Best<\/em> will take place in December 2025 at Ankata<\/a>, the residency space of Serge Aim\u00e9 Coulibaly in Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso). The jury, headed by Serge Aim\u00e9 Coulibaly, chooses the three best solos from a preselection of 14.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

2. Coaching<\/em>
The three winners will then be invited for a period of intensive coaching with three choreographers.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

3. The tour<\/em>
As from May 2026, Africa Simply The Best<\/em>, the three best dance solos from Africa, will go on a tour in Europe.<\/p>\n
